RAPID CITY, S.D. – Monument Health says as of Thursday, 100-percent of their hospitalizations due to COVID-19 are in people who are not vaccinated.
The Black Hills area health systems says they currently have 10 COVID-19 patients with a handful in the I.C.U.
More and more patients are also coming down with the highly transmissible Delta Variant of the virus.
Dr. Shankur Kurra, Vice President of Medical Affairs at Monument, says while health officials say vaccinated people can get the variant, they are more likely to only get a milder form of the virus.
He advises everyone to get vaccinated.
