RAPID CITY, S.D. – A Rapid City man accused of murder appeared in court Wednesday for a motions hearing.
Timothy Huante, 47, is charged in the shooting death of Dallas Quick Bear at Teddy’s Sports Grill in February of 2022.
Judge Matthew Brown granted a prosecution motion Wednesday to allow a new witness who allegedly saw the defendant leave the scene of the crime, but he denied Huante’s ex-wife as another witness.

Judge Brown also granted a defense motion to deny the prosecution’s additional audio and video evidence, although will allow some of that to be admitted at trial in two weeks. The issue arose due to a court order that prohibited either party from producing new evidence 30 days before trial.
Huante’s trial is scheduled to begin on July 29 after a prosecution motion Wednesday to delay to August was denied by Judge Brown.
