Motorcycle incident prompts warning from law enforcement

STURGIS, S.D. – As motorcycle traffic starts to increase ahead of next week’s start to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, law enforcement is encouraging both riders and drivers to be aware of each other.

The Meade County Sheriff’s Office says they responded Monday to a motorcycle that had been forced into the ditch when a driver changed lanes without looking or signaling.

Law enforcement says the rider of the motorcycle suffered only minor injuries but they took the opportunity to share a warning to, “slow down, look twice and use your signals.”

“This could have been a tragedy. Luckily, just a wild ride”

The driver of the vehicle that forced the motorcycle off the road left the scene before the police arrived.
