Motorcycle vs Deer crash south of Lead Monday night

LEAD, S.D. – The Lead Volunteer Fire Department says they were dispatched to a single motorcycle crash about 4 miles south of Lead on U.S. Highway 85 Monday night.

Upon arrival, first responders found a single male rider that had been thrown from their motorcycle after colliding with a deer on the highway.

The rider was wearing a helmet and suffered only minor injuries.

Lead Fire Department’s Rescue 4, Brush 6,  and Squad 7 all responded to the incident.

Assisting agencies were the Lawrence County Sherriff’s Office, the South Dakota Highway Patrol, and the Monument Northern Hills Ambulance.
