Motorcyclist collides with deer south of Lead Thursday evening

LEAD, S.D. – The Lead Fire Department says they responded to a motorcycle vs deer accident at mile marker 34 on U.S. Highway 14A southwest of Lead on Thursday evening.

Upon arrival, firefighters assisted a single patient with non–life-threatening injuries.

Officials say the south-west bound lane of U.S. Highway 14A was controlled during the incident to allow for medical personnel to treat the patient, who was then taken to the hospital.

Lead units: Rescue 4, Squad 7, and Brush 6 responded to the incident.

Assisting agencies were the Lawrence County Sherriff’s Office and Monument Health Northern Hills Ambulance.
