SPEARFISH, S.D. – Police in Spearfish say one male died on Tuesday following a motorcycle and vehicle accident on Jackson Boulevard at Meier Avenue in Spearfish.
Officials say Spearfish police was notified around 12:52 p.m. of a collision involving a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu and a 2004 Sickboy Custom motorcycle.
The operator of the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Jackson Boulevard and was reported to be driving at a high rate of speed.
The 41-year-old male who was driving the motorcycle lost control and crossed into the eastbound lane of traffic, striking the passenger vehicle.
Officials report the male who died was not wearing a helmet.
