Mountain Lion hunting season in Black Hills closes April 30

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The 2020 South Dakota mountain lion hunting season ends on April 30 for the Black Hills Fire Protection District.

The South Daktoa Game Fish and Parks Department reports to date, a total of 51 lions, (24 males and 27 females) have been harvested.

Broken down further, 20 mountain lions were harvested in Custer County, 14 in Lawrence County, 12 in Pennington County and 3 in Meade County.

Mountain lions may still be harvested outside of the Black Hills with a current mountain lion license.
