Myron “Buzz” E. Deneui, 88, Spearfish, passed away Monday, October 7, 2024 at his home. There will be a memorial visitation, Thursday, October 10 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Black Hills Funeral Home in Sturgis. Myron Ezra Deneui was born March 13, 1936 to Ezra and Minnie (Plucker) Deneui on the family farm near Chancellor, SD. After high school he attended the University of South Dakota at Springfield studying automotive technology. After college, “Buzz” worked as a mechanic for a time, before starting a 35-year career in the mechanical division at Morrell’s in Sioux Falls. After retiring he moved to Spearfish, where he worked at the Midnight Star and Black Hills Passion Play.
He married Marcine DeJong on June 21, 1957, together they had six children. After Marcine passed away in 2002, he later married Mary Garrity.
“Buzz” enjoyed fishing, traveling, woodworking and tinkering in his shop. He especially enjoyed traveling by train. He loved Pizza Ranch, baked deserts, ice cream and time visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Deneui; children, Vincent Deneui, Cheryl Deneui-Haack, Bradley Deneui, Kimberly (Jake) Jansevics, Kevin (Kim) Deneui, Jason (Michelle) Deneui; step-children, Wanda Garrity, Bill Zebroski; sister, Ardys Varns and 11 grandchildren. Myron was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra and Minnie Deneui; first wife, Marcine; daughter-in-law, Sharma Deneui; brothers, Elroy and Richard.
