Name released in Harding County crash

BUFFALO, S.D. – A man from Pinehurst, Idaho has been identified as the person who died early Sunday morning in a motorcycle crash north of Buffalo.

An Indian motorcycle was northbound on U.S. Highway 85 when the driver, 44-year-old Eric Atkins, lost control. He was not wearing a helmet and was thrown from the motorcycle. He later died as a result of his injuries.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. All information is only preliminary at this point.
