LINCOLN, Neb. – The 2021 National High School Finals Rodeo is underway in Lincoln, Nebraska as the first go was held Sunday.
Trey Fuller of Faith had an eighth place finish in the boys cutting with a score of 137. Leading the category was Cashton James Weidenbener of Payson, Arizona.
Alexis McDonald of Gardiner, Montana, won the first go of the barrel racing with a time of 17.496.
In the bareback, Cooper Filipek of Rapid City had a fifth place ride with a score 71. Vermont cowboy Jason Wilson had the best score with a 77.
In the Girls’ Cutting, Landry Haugen of Sturgis had a 9th place finish with a 137. Makenzie Moore of Walnut Grove, Mississippi won the round with a 146.
Ludlow’s Molly Rotenberger was fifth in the goat tyine and Maddie Fantaskey of Worland, Wyoming haas the top score in the Reined Cow Horse.
Dawson Kautzman was the first go winner in the steer wrestling with a time of 4.39 and Gillette, Wyoming’s Stratton Kohr won the first go in the Tie Down Roping.
And, in the Team Roping, South Dakota’s Bodey Waln and Tracer Olson won the round with a time of 7.59.
