PIERRE, S.D. – There were 73 new cases of COVID-19 in the state according to the Department of Health Thursday.
Pennington County added 15 new cases and one new death. The county now has 76 active cases. The new death raises Pennington County’s death toll to 3.
Meade County reported a new positive case today. There are now 2 active cases in Meade.
Minnehaha County reported 13 new positive cases today as the state’s most populous county continues to see its numbers decrease. There was, however, another death reported sending its total number of deaths to 41.
Other cases across the state included 12 in Aurora, 11 in Beadle, 10 in Brown, 3 in Codington, 2 each in Jerauld and Lincoln, and one each in Grant, Lyman and Union counties.
There were an additional 9 new hospitalizations today, and 91 people are currently hospitalized – up from 81 Wednesday.
There were 122 new recoveries announced on Thursday. South Dakota now has 3,145 recoveries.
