New cases total 51, four new deaths in Thursday COVID report

PIERRE, S.D. – State health officials reported 51 new cases of COVID-19 in their Thursday report.

Active cases have dropped to 3,117 and the number of people hospitalized has fallen below 100 to 96.

There were four new deaths reported today, sending the state’s death toll to 2848.

Across the Black Hills area, there were 13 new cases among three counties. Pennington County had 5 and there were four each in Meade and Oglala Lakota.
