New COVID-19 cases Friday total 165; no new deaths reported

PIERRE, S.D. —In their Friday COVID-19 report, the Department of Health reported 127 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state.

38 of the 165 total cases are considered as new probable cases.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the statewide death toll at 1,896.

Active cases were up to 2,096 and the number of people hospitalized was 74.

20 confirmed cases were reported West River: seven in Pennington County, six in Meade County, two in Custer County and one each in Butte, Dewey, Jackson, Lawrence and Stanley Counties.

12 probable cases were reported West River: five in Pennington County, four in Fall River County and one each in Dewey, Gregory and Oglala Lakota Counties.
