New COVID-19 cases total 122 Tuesday; no new deaths reported

PIERRE, S.D. – In their Tuesday COVID-19 report, state health officials reported 122 new cases with 15 of them listed as probable.

Active cases continued their decline – down another 64 to 2,244.

The number of people hospitalized dropped by 3 Tuesday to 109.

No new deaths were reported today, keeping the state’s death toll at 1,809.

Across the Black Hills area, there were 28 new, confirmed cases and 3 listed as probable.

Pennington County had the most new cases with 20 total. Meade County added 9 confirmed cases and Lawrence and Fall River County each had one.

There were 581 new persons tested reported on Tuesday. Tuesday’s new person tested positivity rate is 21%.
