New COVID-19 cases total 142 Tuesday; no new deaths reported

PIERRE, S.D. – New cases of COVID-19 across South Dakota totaled 142 new cases with 32 of them listed as probable.

No new deaths were reported, keeping the state’s death toll at 1,912.

Active cases of the virus jumped back up Tuesday to 2,144 from 2,106 Monday.

Hospitalizations were up 5 today to 69 total.

Pennington County reported 7 new, confirmed cases Tuesday, sending the cumulative total to 13,079.

Meade County added 4 confirmed cases and one probable. Lawrence County had one new confirmed case.

Oglala Lakota County also added a new case.

The new persons tested on Tuesday is 343; that is a 41.3% positive rate for new persons tested.
