STURGIS, S.D. – South Dakota health officials reported 222 new cases of COVID-19 in their Thursday report. Of the 222 new cases, 50 were considered as probable.
Active cases dropped below 25-hundred to 2,484, but hospitalizations saw another increase as they went up six to an even 100.
After a week with no new deaths, the state reported one COVID-19 related death Thursday, sending the state’s death toll to 1,939.
Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County added 12 new cases and Lawrence and Meade County each added four.
Custer and Oglala Lakota County each reported two new cases and there was one new case each in Butte and Fall River Counties.
