New COVID-19 cases total 237 Thursday, four new deaths reported

PIERRE, S.D. – New cases of COVID-19 were back up over 200 Thursday as 237 were reported. Of those, 65 were listed as probable.

Four new COVID-19 related deaths were reported, with one of them out of Pennington County. The COVID-19 death toll in Pennington rises to 191 and the statewide death toll totals 1,919 today.

Active cases were back up today to 2,164 but the number of people hospitalized dropped by three to 65.

Pennington County added 16 total new cases Thursday with one of them listed as probable.

Meade County added 3 confirmed cases today and one probable. Lawrence, Butte and Custer Counties all reported one new confirmed case.
