PIERRE, S.D. – The State Health Department reported 428 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, with 77 of those listed as probable.
The number of active cases statewide dropped by a dozen today to 7,090.
Hospitalizations were down two to 237.
There were six new deaths reported, with two of those out of the Black Hills area. One was out of Butte, the other out of Custer County. The state’s death toll is now 2,456.
Around the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 60 new cases with 7 of those listed as probable.
Meade County had 6 confirmed cases and one probable; and Lawrence County totaled 6 new cases.
Elsewhere, Oglala Lakota County added 17 new cases, Custer County had 4, Fall River County listed 3 and Butte County had 2.
