STURGIS, S.D. – Two new deputies were sworn in to the Meade County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.
Judge John Fitzgerald presided over the swearing in of Deputy David Payne and Deputy Travis Jimenez.
Dep. Payne and Dep. Jimenez have begun weeks of “in-house” field training, and will likely attend the SDLE Academy in the spring.
The Meade County Sheriff’s Office says both are long term residents of the area, and have decided to take on this new role.
