RAPID CITY, S.D. – A New York man convicted of a triple murder has had his motion requesting a new trial denied.
Arnson Absolu is serving three life sentences in connection with the deaths of Dakota Zaiser, Ashley Nagy and Charles Red Willow in 2020.
Abosolu filed a motion or a new trial after his lawyer stated that one witness, Shamar Bennett, should not have been allowed to testify after learning information of Bennett being on trial for a separate murder charge.
But, Seventh Circuit Court Judge Robert Gusinksy said the information about Bennett’s own murder trial would not have been admissible, and involvement in Bennett’s murder trial was not relevant to this case.
Bennett had testified that he helped Absolu dispose of Zaiser’s body.
