Christopher Daniel Borton
Chris was born on March 28, 1979, at 8:40 p.m. in Rapid City, SD, to Gregory and Deborah (Reed) Borton. He lived his whole life in Black Hawk, SD. He attended Stevens High School where he graduated in 1997. He had various jobs, but his longest and most memorable one was working for the Dvorak family at BJ’s Country Store in Black Hawk from the age of 17. He enjoyed many activities with the Special Olympics program, including running relays and his favorite, bowling. His last honor with the Special Olympics was being one of the torch bearers for the 2015 Los Angeles Special Olympics games. He loved any and all movies and television programs with super heroes. While he enjoyed many activities such as miniature golf, his greatest love in this world was his nieces, nephews, and little cousins. He cherished any and all time he spent watching and playing with them. Chris had a smile that could light the world with attitude to match. He was always making the people around him happy and bringing laughter to their lives. He had a compassion that was unmatched by normal people. He loved with a love that was more than love with a heart that was too big for this world.
Christopher Daniel Borton, 42, of Black Hawk, SD, died April 30, 2021, at Monument Health Rapid City hospital.
Survivors include his parents, Gregory (Deborah) Borton, Black Hawk, SD; three brothers, Anthony Borton (Cody Brockert), Black Hawk, SD, Jason Borton, Inver Grove Heights, MN, and Jacob (Jenny) Borton, Box Elder, SD; two nieces, Audrey and Kaylin; three nephews, Jeremiah, Dominic, and Gabriel; and soon-to-be Zachary Christopher; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and various honorary family members.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecil (Jeanne) Reed, Eugene Borton, Evelyn (Michael) Murray; one uncle, Timothy Reed; and three aunts, Gwenda Reed, Jean Borton-Nasabal, and TJ Reed; and cousin, Shane Abshire.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 6, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis, SD.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. on May 7, 2021, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
A private family inurnment at Valley View cemetery in Black Hawk, SD, at a later date.
