Firefighters battle two alarm structure fire in Johnson Siding Saturday night

PENNINGTON COUNTY, S.D. — The Johnson Siding Volunteer Fire Department battled a two alarm structure fire late Saturday night.

At approximately 10:45 p.m. Saturday night, fire crews responded to a report of a structure fire on the 2200 block of Pine Meadows Court in unincorporated Johnson Siding.

The first firefighters on the scene found an unoccupied residential structure with a free burning fire, and heavy smoke condition spreading to an adjacent, detached garage.

Temperatures of 12°F were recorded at the scene.

No injuries to Firefighters, civilians or domestic animals were reported. The Red Cross Serving Central and Western South Dakota is assisting the resident.

Responding agencies included Pennington County 911, Johnson Siding Volunteer Fire Department, Doty Volunteer Fire Department, Rapid Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Black Hawk Volunteer Fire Department, Rapid City Fire Department and Ambulance, Whispering Pines Volunteer Fire Department, Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, Black Hills Electrical Cooperative and the Red Cross Serving Central and Western South Dakota.
