RAPID CITY, S.D. – A former coordinator for the Black Hills Area Salvation Army chapter was sentenced to 17.5 years in prison Tuesday.
Javier Clark Moreno, 41, pleaded guilty to one count of receipt of child pornography after reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors.
As part of that plea agreement, a charge of possession of child pornography was dropped.
Judge Jeffrey Viken sentenced Moreno to 17.5 years and eight years of supervised release with special conditions. Moreno must register as a sex offender, submit to Internet and computer monitoring and undergo sexual offender treatment.
Moreno was arrested in May of 2021 after an investigation by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
