Friday’s COVID-19 Report shows fourteen new deaths

STURGIS, S.D. – South Dakota health officials reported 136 new cases of COVID-19 in their Friday report.

Active cases dropped to 5,348 and the number of hospitalizations was back down to 171.

Fourteen new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll above twenty-eight hundred to 2,802. Of the new deaths, two were reported out of Pennington County.

New cases across the Black Hills area included 19 in Pennington County, 9 in Meade County and 5 in Lawrence County.

Elsewhere, there were 3 each in Custer and Fall River County, 2 out of Butte County and one in Oglala Lakota.
