Gary & Amy Cammack announce they are transitioning their Union Center business on to son Reed

UNION CENTER, S.D. – After 50 years of being in business, Gary and Amy Cammack of Cammack Ranch Supply announced today they are passing down the business to the next generation.

Speaking with KBHB Radio News Friday, Gary says Reed and Amber Cammack will begin the next generation.

Cammack Ranch Supply was born in 1979.

They soon went from one employee to 10 and a huge increase in sales. But, Gary says there were some challenging times.

Some of the milestone moments Gary mentioned include having Baxter Black coming to Union Center for a late summer rancher roundup. That visit sparked a huge attendance that led to the emptying of everybody’s freezer to feed an estimated 1,200 people.

Gary talks about what they built their business on – redefining uses for products maybe not intended for the agricultural purpose.

Not anticipating any drastic changes, Reed Cammack talks about taking over the business.

Gary, who along with politics will remain in the cattle sector, says the official change officially took place this past week.
