Glenn Hodges

Glenn Hodges, age 63 of Belle Fourche, died Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at his home following a sudden cardiac event.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 am Thursday, June 1st, 2023 at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.

Glenn Curtis Hodges was born August 14, 1959 in Sturgis.  He was the son of Lee and Alice (Anderson) Hodges.  Glenn grew up in Belle Fourche, where he graduated from high school in 1977.  Glenn was united in marriage to Stacie Rodig in 1982; they later divorced.  To this union, one daughter, Halie, was born.  From 1980 to 1983, Glenn worked at Baroid in Belle Fourche, where he loaded trucks and boxcars.  In June of 1983 he started working for Pope and Talbot in Spearfish, retiring in 2018.  There he worked in many capacities, including as a Dry Kiln Operator.

Glenn was a life-long lover of the outdoors.  He enjoyed hunting deer and antelope, but fishing Orman Dam was what he really liked to do the most.  He fished his whole life, and he made many great memories doing it.  Talking about his memories was something Glenn enjoyed doing, especially with his grandsons.  He was loved by his two grandsons and he enjoyed the role of spoiling them whenever he could.  Glenn was a hard-working, simple man, outspoken and independent, and very proud of his daughter and her family.  He will be missed very much.

Glenn is survived by his daughter, Halie (Reece) Deters of Sioux Falls; 2 grandsons, Gage and Gus; mother, Alice Hodges of Rapid City; and 3 sisters, Evelyn (Doug) Dimick of Spearfish, Wendy (Bob) Walker of Greely CO, and Kerri (Don) Dahlgren of Lake City FL.  He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Hodges.
