SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – There are signs that inflation may be easing, now the question becomes, “can we avoid a recession.”

Creighton University economics professor Ernie Goss says the Mid-America economic survey shows a soft landing.

That means some parts of the economy will fall into recession.

He believes the construction industry is there.

He says construction of commercial properties is being hit harder by higher interest rates and slower business trends.
