On Thursday, September 22, 2022, Janie Marie Sirlona passed away at the Monument Health Hospice in Rapid City, after a long battle with cancer.

Janie was born on December 31, 1961, to Jack and Donna (Stillian) Dale in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was the youngest of three siblings. Janie graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs.

On June 13, 1997, she married the love of her life, Roland Lee Sirlona in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They were together for 30 years and married for 25 years. In Cedar Rapids Janie worked as the Temp Supervisor at General Mills. Roland and Janie moved to Rapid City in 2003. Janie held many jobs over the years, but her favorite was running the Café at the Nemo Guest Ranch in Nemo, SD.

Janie’s favorite things to do were camping and enjoying the Black Hills. She treasured the time spent with her family, friends, and her dogs.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Dale.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Roland Sirlona; son, Mike Dale; daughter, Mellisa Dale; grandchildren, Makayla White, Akaydian Little, Eleecya Little, Kaycee Konvalin (and family), and many other grandchildren; sister, Jackie (Jim) Cook; brother, Ron (Cathy) Dale; her best friend, Tiny Horton; and several nieces and nephews; her dogs, Mollie May, Chante, and MoonDance.

We would like to thank Wetta for staying by her side the last few days. And a very special thank you to the Hospice nurses.
