Jimmie “Jim” Sumners
Jimmie “Jim” Sumners, age 79, of White River, South Dakota, died on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Monument Health Spearfish Hospital.
Visitation will be held 5-7p.m. CDT Friday, June 17, at the White River Community Events Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. CDT Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the White River Community Events Center with Pastor Kathy Chesney officiating.
Interment will follow at the White River Cemetery.
Survivors include his significant other Mary Brandis of White River; four children: Kimberly (Don) Padilla of Laramie, WY; Brian Sumners of White River; Misti Sumners of Spearfish; and Brandon Sumners of Page, AZ; three grandchildren: Skyler Sumners, Makenna and Connor Clark; one brother Dan Sumners of Williston, ND; one sister Marjorie Desport of Covina, CA; friend and mother of his children: Katherine Sumners; Mary Brandis’ children: Chip (Julia Lee) Brandis, Sharon (Gary) Wickham, and Charley Brandis; Mary’s grandchildren: Travis (Rosie Howard) Brandis, Kristin Brandis, and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Brandis, Mugz and Ashlin Wickham, Madyson and Kennedy Nelson; Mary’s great-grandchildren: Kaden, Jolecia, Sophia, and Penelope; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willis and Winifred Sumners; four brothers: Ike, Jack, Johnny, and Pat Sumners; seven sisters: Shirley Kuper, Myrt Larson, Billie Nordlie, Evelyn Dutroit, Nadine Tucker, Goldie Reichardt, and Ida Lorraine Sumners in infancy.
