RAPID CITY, SD – The Sturgis Post 33 Titans lost to Lincoln Post 3, 8-0, on Saturday morning at the Veterans Classic baseball tournament.
The game was scoreless after one inning until Lincoln plated two runs in the bottom of the second due to fielding errors by Post 33.
The Titans had trouble generating offense and finished the game with four hits and three errors.
Hudson Shaffer was credited with the victory for Lincoln Post 3. The pitcher allowed four hits over five innings, striking out four and walking one.
Owen Cass started the game for Sturgis Post 33. Cass went three innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out five. Brody Royer threw one and two-thirds innings in relief.
Evan Stroud led Sturgis Post 33 with two hits in two at bats.
Lincoln racked up 11 hits and were led by Bennett Bruns, who went 3-for-4 at the plate.
Sturgis falls to 0-5 on the season and takes on the Post 22 Expos Saturday afternoon at Pete Lien Field.
