Ray Lesmeister, 73, of Sturgis, South Dakota, passed away September 9, 2022, at Monument Health Rapid City.
Ray was born in Ridge View, SD, to Ray Lesmeister and Delores Elosia (Giron) Lesmeister, August 5, 1949.
Ray was raised in Eagle Butte, SD. After school he joined the army in 1969, and was proud to have served his country in Vietnam.
Ray was a hard worker and had many jobs growing up. He started working for Jerry Horst in 1978 and this was his all-time favorite. He continued there until he retired at age 70.
Ray is survived by his wife Tammy; son, Everett Lesmeister; grandchild, Amelia Rose Lesmeister; brothers, Frank (Rose) Dupris, John (Roxanna) Dupris, and Fred (Norma) Dupris; sisters, Ramona Wilson, Bev Bad Moccasin, and Lavona Radke; brother-in-law, Dan (Sandy) Huffman and brother-in-law, Bernie Tveidt; sister-in-law, Tina (Artie) Huffman; mother-in-law, Twyla Huffman; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Lesmeister, Sr.; mother, Delores Elosia Dupris; Richard Duperior, Lavern Lesmeister, Ester Lesmeister, Susie Joaquin; and sister-in-law, Dixie Tviedt.
Honorary pallbearers are “All My Boys”. Ray was a mentor to all employees at Horst and referred to them as “All My Boys”
Graveside services, with military honors, will be held Friday, September 16, 2022, 11:30 a.m., at Black Hills National Cemetery. A
Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 noon at the Sturgis VFW.
