RAPID CITY, SD – An analysis by the Associated Press of governmental and other weather records indicates that South Dakota is one of the states that has warmed the most during summer days over the past 30 years.
The analysis says that South Dakota has warmed 2.7 degrees over the last three decades of summers.
Wyoming also warmed by 2.7 degrees and Montana by 2.4 degrees.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration data also looked at the top states that warmed the most in summer at nighttime over the past 30 years. Nighttime lows are important for human  health because the body needs to recover from daytime high temperatures, experts say.
