South Dakota High School Finals Rodeo wraps up Saturday as champions are crowned

FORT PIERRE, S.D. –The 2021 South Dakota High School Finals Rodeo wrapped up Saturday in Fort Pierre.

Along with winning state titles, the top four contestants in each event qualified for the National High School Finals Rodeo which will take place July 18-24 in Lincoln, NE.

Landry Haugen of Sturgis will be headed to the National Finals in four events. Haugen was crowned champion in the barrel racing and pole bending, got second in the girl’s cutting, and fourth in the reined cow horse.

Another Sturgis athlete, Kashton Ford, won the bareback riding, and will be headed to Nationals.
