State B Wrestling – Round One completed

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The first round is complete at the State B Wrestling Tournament. Here is a rundown on how area wrestlers performed.

At 106 pounds, Philip’s Tukker Boe pinned Zach Bartels to advance to the quarterfinals. He’ll be joined by Tray Weiss of Custer who defeated Tate Steffensen. Newell’s Charlie Clements lost his opening match to Connor Gied of Howard. Tanner Millard of Lead-Deadwood also lost his opening match.

At 113 pounds, Riley Scott of Custer defeated Gannon Gilligan to advance to the quarterfinals. Harding County’s Cade Costello lost his opening match to Gavin Risse of Bennett County.

At 120 pounds, Kipp Cordes of Philip advances to the quarterfinals with a win over John Yonker and Cade Martian of Harding County lost his opening match to Teague Granum of Canton.

At 126 pounds, Philip’s Jace Blasius advances with a win of Wyatt Wientjes of Mobridge/Pollock. He will face Landon Woodward of Custer in the quarterfinals. Woodward defeated Logan Buseman of Parkston to advance. Lincoln Wisckstrom of Harding County lost his opening match.

At 132 pounds, Philip’s Gage Ravallette advances with a win over Kaydin Carter while Pierce Sword lost his match to Owen Hansen. Lead-Deadwood’s Mekhi Hayes dropped his opening match to Dylan Zell.

At 138 pounds, Ryker Peterson of Philip won his opening match with a win over Tate Tolsma. Tyson Durham of St Thomas More and Braden Weiss of Custer lost their opening round matches.

At 145 pounds, Chase VanDerBoom of Newell advances to the quarterfinals with a win over Mason Whitley of Redfield. Thane Simons of Philip also advances with a win over Colton Brady of Stanley County. Miles Renner of Lead-Deadwood lost his opening round match.

At 152 pounds, Xavier Wright of Hot Springs advances with a win over Troy Randall Jr. Harding County’s Wyatt Head dropped his first round match.

At 160 pounds, Jonathan Lewis of Custer won his opening round match and advances to the quarterfinals.

At 170 pounds, Burk Blasius of Philip defeats Connor Johnson to advance. Paker Noem of Custer lost his opening match to Levi Stove of Stanley County.

At 182 pounds, Custer’s Sterling Sword dropped his opening round match.

At 195 pounds, Jensen Fitch of Philip loses to Charley Pravecek of Winner Area. Caleb Rickenbach of Hot Springs advances with a win over Nate Kershing. Lead-Deadwood’s Dylan Meade drops his opening round match, as does Zayen Severyn of Custer.

At 220 pounds, Grey Gilbert of Harding County and Tanner Davis of Hill City both advance to the quarterfinals with opening round wins.

And, at 285 pounds, Philip’s Lincoln Koehn lost to Elliot Chase and Chancy Adolph of Harding County also dropped his opening round match.

In the team scores, Canton leads with 34.5. Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes is second with 27 and Winne Area is third with 24.5. Philip is in fourth with 24 points.
