STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis Council Monday night passed its annual road closures and boundaries that will be in effect for this year’s Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Tammy Even-Cordell, Rally and Events Director, told the council things are pretty much status quo for this year’s event concerning the road closures and restrictions around town.
The council also approved year number three of open container for the Rally down on Main Street.
Even-Cordell says this year, they are adding even more signage that makes it clear you have beer or wine only in approved cups out on the street within the boundaries.
Sturgis Police Chief Geody Vandewater says signage was one of their big problems last year. He says the signs need to be easier to read.
