STURGIS, SD – From fly-in’s to a car show, the “Wings ‘N Wheels,” event offers an entertaining variety of sights.
Set for Saturday, July 10 at the Sturgis Municipal Airport, the event is family-friendly with lunch provided. While admission is free, goodwill donations are appreciated.
Earlier this year, the Sturgis City Council approved a $345,000 contract to construct a new taxiway at the airport.. The new taxiway will allow the airport to use more of its land for new hangar space which is needed to accomodate more planes.
The Sturgis Airport is located at 13345 Alkali Road, Sturgis, SD 57785. Go east from Sturgis on Hwy 34, turn right on Ft. Meade Way, and then take an immediate left onto 206th/Alkali Road. Travel approximately two miles to the airport (on the right).
