Wrestling Scoreboard: Winner takes home team title of home tournament

WINNER, S.D. – Winner claimed the team title of their home wrestling tournament Saturday, scoring 229 points.

Custer placed second with 203 point and Burke/Gregory was third with 162.

Philip placed sixth and Hot Springs was ninth.

Custer crowned four champions on the day. They were Tray Weiss at 106, Landon Woodward at 126, Braden Weiss at 138 and Parker Noem at 170.

Philip crowned a champion at 152 with McCoy Peterson and at 120 with Kip Cordes.

Caleb Rickenbach of Hot Springs won the 195 pound championship.

Elsewhere, at the River City Rumble in Chamberlain, Mitchell captured the team title with 178.5 points. Chamberlain was second with 163 and Milbank was third with 104. Belle Fourche placed sixth and Douglas was seventh.

Area winners included Ian Fleming of Douglas at 113 and Thomas McCoy of Belle Fourche at 138. Cade Bickerdyke of Belle came in second at 195, Payton DeWitt of Douglas came in second at 160, Cayden Wolf of Belle Fourche was second at 152, and Kale Crowser of Douglas was second at 138.

In the girls bracket, Kyra Vandenberg of Belle Fourche won the 106 pound title and Hailey Rodriguez of Belle Fourche won at 120,
