PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 923 new cases of COVID-19 in their weekly report issued Wednesday.
There were 35 new hospitalizations listed, and a total of 64 people are hospitalized due to the virus.
Active cases across the state dropped this week to 649.
Nine new deaths among cases were reported, sending the state’s death toll to 3,115. One of the new deaths was in Oglala Lakota County.
Across the Black Hills region, Pennington County reported 73 new cases over the past week with Meade County showing 29 new cases and Lawrence County listed 20.
Elsewhere, Oglala Lakota County added 21 new cases, Fall River County reported 6, Butte County had 3 and one new case was in Custer County.
