PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 81 new cases of COVID-19 in their Tuesday update.
Active cases have dropped to 3,355 and the number of people hospitalized was down slightly to 120.
Nine new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll to 2,843. One of the new deaths was out of Pennington County, where the death toll rises to 333.
Across the Black Hills area, there were 24 new cases. Pennington County recorded 14 of those with Oglala Lakota County reporting five, Meade and Custer County each reported two and Butte County having one new case.
