PIERRE, S.D. – State health officials announced 244 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday with 67 of them listed as probable.
For a second day in a row, no new deaths were reported and active cases dropped by 351 to 4,751. Also down today was the number of hospitalizations at 240.
Across West River counties, there were 59 total new cases, of which 10 were listed as probable.
Pennington County had 27 new cases with 2 probable, Meade County added 10 with one probable and Lawrence County had 2 confirmed new cases.
Elsewhere across the Black Hills area, Oglala Lakota County reported 5 new cases, Butte County had 3 and Custer County reported one.
There were 670 new persons tested reported on Tuesday. Tuesday’s new person tested positivity rate is 36.4%.
