No serious injuries after two car crash in Sturgis

STURGIS, S.D. – No serious injuries were reported after two vehicles collided at the intersection of 4th Street and Lazelle Thursday morning.

Sturgis Police Chief Geody Vandewater says a westbound 2023 Ford Bronco traveling on Lazelle failed to stop for a red light at the intersection, and collided with a  2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. The Grand Prix was stopped for the red light on 4th Street and had proceeded north through the intersection when his light turned green when the accident occurred.

Sturgis Ambulance was called to check out both drivers.

Vandewater says the driver of the Bronco was cited for a red light violation.

Both vehicles were disabled and had to be towed from the scene.
