Nominatons are being taken for Black Hills Spirit of Volunteerism Awards

RAPID CITY, S.D. –Do you know a business that gives back by donating products, money, or time from their employees? What about a youth from a community who continues to give back to their school, sports, a committee, or a nonprofit that is meaningful to them?

Those examples and more are encouraged in nominations for the 7th Annual Black Hills Spirit of Volunteerism Awards.

According to organizers, The Helpline Center, volunteers do make a world of difference, and they look forward to honoring the incredible volunteers from the Black Hills.

The Helpline Center is currently seeking nominations for Spirit of Volunteerism awards to be presented Wednesday, April 26.

Even though the world has changed over the past years, say organizers, a few things have remained the same in communities; good hearts, selflessness, and meaningful connections, all made possible by area volunteers.

Perhaps you are part of a group, or know someone who is, that makes volunteering a regular part of the work they do, making a positive impact in the Black Hills. Is there an adult (18+) or an elder you know who has been a shining light in hard times and has dedicated their time to volunteer work or volunteers between their busy schedules?

People, organizations and businesses are  encouraged to consider those who give back in countless ways and fill out the easy honoree form found at helplinecenter.org/sva to share their story. Multiple nominations in various categories are welcome. The nomination deadline is 5:00p.m., Monday, March 13, 2023.
