Numbers decline in Monday COVID-19 report

PIERRE, SD –  There were 80 new confirmed cases and 17 probable in Monday’s South Dakota Department of Health’s COVID-19 report.

Hospitalizations were reported at 96, down from the last report by eight. Active cases have also declined to 1,822, down 49 from the last report.

Two new deaths were reported bringing the state’s total to 1,960.

Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported four confirmed cases and one probable. Monday’s report listed 158 active cases in the county.

There is one new case in Meade County and 23 active cases. Butte County reported one new case and 22 active cases. Lawrence County has two new confirmed cases and 34 active cases and Oglala has one new case and nine active cases.

Community spread across counties is recorded at moderate to substantial, depending on the county.
