One dead in rollover crash on Skyline Drive early Wednesday morning

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City Police are investigating an early morning rollover that has killed one person.

According to the Rapid City Police Department, at around 1:30 a.m. police received a report of a single vehicle rollover crash in the 2000 block of Skyline Drive. On arrival, officers located the vehicle which had come to rest down the hill to the east of the roadway.

The four occupants of the vehicle were located, and it was determined that two had been ejected with serious injuries. The two ejected occupants of the vehicle were transported to the hospital for treatment. Police later learned that the driver of the vehicle, a female in her late 20s, died at the hospital.

The crash remains under investigation by the R.C.P.D.’s Critical Accident Reconstruction Team.

At this point in the investigation, speed and alcohol both appear to be factors in the crash
