RAPID CITY, S.D. – One of two men involved in the murder of Glennard Gunn was sentenced Tuesday in Seventh Circuit Court.
Jacob Jumping Eagle, age 30, earlier pleaded guilty to the crime.
Jumping Eagle was given 40 years in prison with half of that suspended for his role in the manslaughter death of Gunn in September of 2023.
Jumping Eagle and co-defendant Craig Returns From Scout were charged with kicking and stomping Gunn to death and leaving his body in an alley.
Judge Jeff Connolly denied a defense motion that Jumping Eagle receive just 10 years for having played a lesser role in the crime.
Returns From Scout has yet to be sentenced.
