PIERRE, S.D. – If you’re ordering flowers for Valentine’s Day, the sooner the better, or you may end up falling for a scam.
Jessie Schmidt of the Better Business Bureau says do your homework before ordering flowers on-line.
“If you can’t find an address or a customer service phone on a website that’s a big red flag,” said Schmidt. “Do your research. What are the customer reviews, whether they’re on BBB.org or whether they’re on Google reviews?”
Also verify the florist’s physical address and contact information.
A legitimate florist will have all kinds of ways to contact them, whether that’s directly through their on-line platform or posting a phone number to call.
Schmidt says it’s also a good idea to be sure of the florist’s delivery policies and times.
