Oscar Arispe Gonzales, 62, of Belle Fourche died at his home from complications of diabetes on September 21, 2023.
Oscar was born July 13, 1961 in Senora, Texas to Oscar Sr. and Jane (Gomez) Gonzales. He graduated from Belle Fourche High School in 1980 where he played basketball and football. Oscar attended college at Bismarck State where he played football. He worked his way into a starting noseguard position on defense. Oscar served in the United States Marine Corp as a transport operator with the 3’d Marine Aircraft Wing in El Toro California.
He married Melissa Scherr July,1995. They had one son, Tanner Gonzales. He worked at EZ Fab as a welder fabricator and a Maintenance Tech for IDIC Specialty drilling chemicals. Oscar enjoyed fishing and hunting. He guided elk hunters for Big Sky Guide & Outfitters out of Wilsall, Montana for several years. He loved fishing with friends at Orman Dam, and depending on the bite has been known to fish all night leaving just in time for work.
Oscars was preceded by a stepson, Mykel Lamb; his parents, Oscar Sr. and Jane Gonzales; his paternal grandparents, Cruz and Dominga (Arispe) Gonzales and maternal grandparents, Daniel and Herminia Gomez.
He is survived by his son, Tanner Gonzales; stepdaughter, Shawna Tibbs; grandchildren, Cory and Ashley; his ex-wife, Melissa May all of Henderson, NV; siblings, Lynda Schmidt (Kelly Oliver) of Arvada, CO, Sam (Barb) Gonzales of Thornton, CO, Larissa (John) Noriega of Modesto, CA and Leroy (Andrea) Gonzales of Belle Fourche; also survived by nieces and nephews, Chelsea (Nick) Freddo of Wheat Ridge, CO, Tyler (Taylor) and Grayson Gonzales of Thornton, CO, Nicholas Gonzales of Thornton, CO, Samantha Gonzales (Nick) of Tampa, FL, Austin (Kristin) Peyton and Addi of Thornton, CO; Shelby Noriega of Medesto, CA, Franke (Justin) and Maesyn Strickland of Sturgis, SD and Tyson Gonzales of Steam Boat Springs, CO
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 11:00 am at Kline Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche with burial to follow at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche.  Please wear bright colors, no black, let this be casual. There will be a gathering following the burial at the Branding Iron from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm for all who would like to join.
