Outgoing Sturgis City Manager Daniel Ainslie receives oath of office in Rapid City

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Outgoing Sturgis City Manager Daniel Ainslie received a warm welcome at this week’s Rapid City Council meeting.

Ainslie received the oath of office as he prepares to take over as Finance Director for the City of Rapid City.

Interim Finance Director Tracy Davis administered the oath of office to Ainslie in official swearing-in ceremonies.

Ainslie has served as the City Manager for the City of Sturgis since 2011.  He will begin his new duties with the City of Rapid City on April 10.

Davis has been serving as interim Finance Director since the departure of Pauline Sumption in September of last year.

Rapid City Mayor Steve Allender acknowledges Ainslie’s work and capabilities and looks forward to having him as the city’s new Finance Director. Allender says, “He was selected based on his employment history, obviously, but also specifically that he is known for a certain level of automation and city process.”
