Established in 2002, the 4-H Volunteer Hall of Fame commemorates the program’s centennial and recognizes individuals who have impacted the lives of 4-H youth. These volunteers go beyond providing guidance; they often build cherished relationships that serve as cornerstones for young people’s experiences in 4-H.

“4-H members have the privilege of learning from dedicated adults who offer mentorship and support throughout their 4-H journey,” said Jenae Hansen-Gross, SDSU Extension 4-H Volunteer Development Field Specialist. “The volunteers we are honoring today have gone above and beyond, demonstrating an exceptional commitment to all aspects of the program and a passion for advocating for the success of our youth.”

The public is invited to attend the recognition ceremony, which will be held at approximately 4:30 PM on September 1st, following the Performing Arts Troupe performance in the Nordby Exhibit Hall at the State Fairgrounds. This event provides an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding contributions of these dedicated individuals and acknowledge the vital role volunteers play in the thriving 4-H program in South Dakota.
