RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office is introducing an updated appearance for its new patrol vehicles.
The sheriff’s office says existing vehicles will retain their current aesthetics, but every new patrol vehicle will receive updated striping.
Crafted by deputies and endorsed by the vehicle committee and Sheriff Brian Mueller, the new artwork aims for a modern and recognizable representation of the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy David Dross said, “It’s a nice, clean, sleek, modern look. We wanted something that was easily recognized as the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office while keeping our theme.”
The new design also brings financial advantages. There are no extra expenses incurred for restriping existing patrol vehicles, and the installation costs for the new striping amount to approximately a third less. Furthermore, the distinct branding will facilitate more economical repairs for minor damages as they arise.
Sheriff Brian Mueller emphasized, “We always keep the taxpayer in mind when we make office decisions. We think the public will be happy with this more modern and affordable striping.”
